Walk name: Lantys Tarn, near Ullswater
Grade: 4 Approximate length: 3 Miles
Park in the car park at Glenridding, walk back to the main road and turn right over the beck looking for the road signposted Mires Beck. Walk up the road, which becomes a footpath, until just after the last building there is a junction, take the left fork signposted Lanty's Tarn.
Follow the footpath past the buildings at Westside, then turn left on a footbridge over a small river. The footpath now begins to climb steeply as it zigzags up the hill towards Lanty's Tarn. Just before you reach the tarn there is a gate, go through the gate and follow the footpath to the top of Keldas, where you can enjoy wonderful panoramic scenic views.
Head back down the footpath until you reach a sharp bend, you will find a footpath signposted Striding Edge which starts through a gate on the left, follow this footpath across the side of the hill, heading in the direction of the buildings at Mires Beck. Just before the buildings a yellow arrow points to the right, this then goes through a gap in a stone wall, then crosses a small river and joins another footpath, turn right here and then right again as you approach Glenridding Beck, which will bring you back to the start.
