Walk name: Fusedale and Martindale, near Ullswater
Grade: 2 Approximate length: 4 Miles
Park in the car park on the right hand side of the road opposite the church just after Howtown, which is just 4 miles drive south of Pooley Bridge. On the other side of the road the footpath starts on the right hand side of the church, continue over the small hill in front of you which then drops down to join up with the footpath at the bottom of a steep slope.
Turn left onto this footpath and follow this into Fusedale, where the footpath meets a driveway running up the valley. Turn right onto this driveway by the side of the river and just before the driveway runs off to the left into Cote Farm take a right over the footbridge and follow the footpath into the valley.
The footpath continues along the side of the beck until you reach a small ruin then a footbridge crossing Groove Gill, after the bridge keep climbing until you reach a level area and the footpath splits, take the right hand footpath across the slope to another small ruin then across the beck.
Climb the next slope and go through the wall, turning right, follow the footpath along the ridge, keeping the wall to the right. As the wall swings left, the footpath splits, keep left which drops you down across the side of the hill to join the public road by the old church in Martindale, turning right on the road will lead you back to the start of the walk.
