Walk name: Angle Tarn, near Ullswater
Grade: 2 Approximate length: 7 Miles
Park in the car park at the top end of the village of Hartsop. From the back of the car park follow the footpath signposted for Hayeswater. Continue until you reach a junction just after a cattle grid, turn right dropping down to Hayeswater Gill, then climbing up steeply on the other side.
This footpath will take you up to the dam wall of Hayeswater, cross over the footbridge and continue climbing up the steep footpath on the grassy slope between two peaks. As you approach the junction by the watershed turn left onto another clear footpath. At the lowest point a fence joins the path from the left and the footpath follows this to the peak of Satura Crag, here the view is excellent.
Just after the peak the footpath meets a gate in a junction of walls. Go through the gate and continue walking gently downhill to Angle Tarn, follow the footpath with the tarn on the left swinging left with Angle Tarn Pikes up on your right. The footpath drops down again to Boredale Hause, cross over the small river and continue across the flat area until you reach a junction of footpaths, go left until the footpath splits again, keep left back over the small river and then continue downhill across the side of a steep slope, turn left at the bottom and follow the valley back to Hartsop.
