all are well within driving distance of each other, offering splendid
scenery and views of lakeland fells, mountains, lakes, rivers and
tarns. Many of which have excellent accommodation available wether

Workington
Description: Workington, also on the west coast of the Lake
District, is a bustling working town with a long history in mining and fishing, the two main
industries of the town. Places of interest in Workington include the Helena Thompson Museum
housed in an 18th century house, it exhibits the social and industrial history of the village, as
well as poetry jewellery and furniture.
The Workington Hall is one of the oldest
buildings in the village, dating back to the 14th century. There are also a variety of shops with
a wide selection of local goods on sale. With many excellent pubs and restaurants found all
around the village, visitors have many opportunities to sample some of the best local beers and
cuisine.
If you’re looking for something to do, the leisure links complex has a host of
facilities on offer, including swimming pools squash courts bar and cafe theatre and concert
performances. Workington is perfect for visitors who are looking to have a livelier holiday in
the Lake District.
