all are well within driving distance of each other, offering splendid
scenery and views of lakeland fells, mountains, lakes, rivers and
tarns. Many of which have excellent accommodation available wether
you are an avid walker/hiker or just here to see the beautiful scenerey,
for mountain bikers many of them offer safe storage for your bikes.

Penrith
Description: Penrith was the childhood home of William
Wordsworth and it is situated in the north east of the Lake District.
The ruins of the
Roman Fort, Brocavum, are one of the town’s main attractions. Penrith’s other popular attractions
include the 14th century Penrith Castle the 13th century St. Andrews Church Robinsons School
from 1670 which ha been changed into a museum and the Police Museum in Carleton
Hall.
Penrith is a very popular destination amongst tourists to the Lake District.
