all are well within driving distance of each other, offering splendid
scenery and views of lakeland fells, mountains, lakes, rivers and
tarns. Many of which have excellent accommodation available wether
you are an avid walker/hiker or just here to see the beautiful scenerey,
for mountain bikers many of them offer safe storage for your bikes.

Kirkby Lonsdale
Description: Kirkby Lonsdale is situated on the site of
one of the oldest settlements in the area, in the south of the Lake District.
The earliest
records of the town are from 1086 and it secured a market charter in 1227. Historical attractions
in the village include the Queen Elizabeth School which dates back to 1591, the Devils Bridge
across the River Lune from the 15th century and many traditional buildings.
