plenty of towns and villages dotted all over the Lake District,
all are well within driving distance of each other, offering splendid
scenery and views of lakeland fells, mountains, lakes, rivers and
tarns. Many of which have excellent accommodation available wether
you are an avid walker/hiker or just here to see the beautiful scenerey,
for mountain bikers many of them offer safe storage for your bikes.

Hawkshead
Description: Hawkshead has its roots as a medieval market
town and has flourished ever since. This town is where visitors to the Lake District can
experience what Lakeland life is really like.
Hawkshead’s history stretches back hundreds
of years, and the town has a number of historical attractions including the Hawkshead Hall ruins,
St Michaels Parish Church dating back to the 15th century and the 1855 grammar school which
William Wordsworth attended.
The town is surrounded by the most beautiful landscape in the
Lake District, to the east is Windermere Lake, Grizedale Forest is located to the south and Lake
Coniston is found to the west.
