plenty of towns and villages dotted all over the Lake District,
all are well within driving distance of each other, offering splendid
scenery and views of lakeland fells, mountains, lakes, rivers and
tarns. Many of which have excellent accommodation available wether
you are an avid walker/hiker or just here to see the beautiful scenerey,
for mountain bikers many of them offer safe storage for your bikes.

Haverthwaite
Description: Haverthwaite is situated near Low Wood off
the A590, close to Greenodd and Ulverston and south of the Lake District National
Park.
Haverthwaite’s long history can be seen in the steam railway line and the old listed
gunpowder works which are both open to the public and should not be missed.
This relaxed
village is the best starting point for discovering this section of the Lake District with many
points of interest close to the village and a variety of walks that start and end in the
village.
