Bowness on Windermere
Description: Bowness-on-Windermere, the largest
town in the Lake District National Park, is a vibrant and booming holiday town. Situated on the
shores of Lake Windermere, it has breathtaking views over the lake and up to the mountains. This
lively town has a range of shops, eating and drinking establishments, as well as a few
outstanding cultural and historical attractions.
Bowness’ main attractions include the
Church of St. Martins dating back to the 15th century, Steamboat Museum, and The World of Beatrix
Potter Attraction. The town’s ferry terminal provides easy access to the delightful village of
Hawkshead. Sail and steamboats provide regular sightseeing trips up and down the lake.
