There's
plenty of towns and villages dotted all over the Lake District,
all are well within driving distance of each other, offering splendid
scenery and views of lakeland fells, mountains, lakes, rivers and
tarns. Many of which have excellent accommodation available wether
you are an avid walker/hiker or just here to see the beautiful scenerey,
for mountain bikers many of them offer safe storage for your bikes.

Bassenthwaite Village
Description: This charming village is situated on
the northeast shore of Bassenthwaite Lake, west of the Great Calva Mountain. Bassenthwaite
Village is a relatively untouched medieval village and is one of the more laid back villages in
the Lake District.
Bassenthwaite Church is the village’s main attraction, dating back to
the 12th and 13th centuries it is one of the only churches from this period that remain in the
area today. Bassenthwaite Lake is found north east of the village and is one of the most
untouched of all the lakes in the Lake District.
