Lake Windermere
Description:
Windermere Lake, 12 miles in length, is England’s biggest and longest natural lake. A number of towns
and villages are located on the lake’s shoreline, which include Bowness on Windermere, a very popular and well visited lakeside tourist resort, Windermere
Village itself and Ambleside at the Northern end of the lake which shoreline is known as waterhead.
The lake offers a number of water based
activities, including wake boarding, cruises, sailing and swimming, and is a popular destination with tourists from all over the world.
