The
Lake District has many campsites dotted around its well known lakes
and waters from the large campsites such as Limefit Caravan Park
on the shores of Lake Windermere down to small fields offered by
farmers many in perfect locations, on offer are tent pitches as
well as caravan
and motor home areas, come see for yourself what camping in
the Lake District is all about.
The National
Trust manage and own three campsites, each with its own unique character:
Low Wray is located in Ambleside on the western side of Lake
Windermere, which is a popular base for walking, sailing, canoeing
and windsurfing. Great Langdale Camp Site is located at the head
of Great Langdale, which is a popular base for fell walking and
rock climbing. Wasdale Head is a 3ha camp site located at the head
of Wasdale and is also a very popular base for fell walking and
rock climbing.
