Review: We stayed at hillsdale for 2 nights and found the owners of this b&b to be very friendly and always willing to help you if unsure where to eat, walk etc.
Thanks to George we had a lovely walk recommended by himself that suited our needs, it was just perfect. Couldn't fault the room, we had everything we needed and it was clean and cosy. Thanks for making our weekend one to remember and we will certainly be returning again.

Review: ust to state this is our third return to the hillsdale which suggests this bnb is an ideal all-rounder...and the fact is, it is.
The location is ideal, situated in the heart of ambleside but off the main road from the centre so the location is quiet and peaceful however just around the corner you have the great atmosphere of the village. A short 5 to 10 mins drive to the ever so fantastic low wood hotel in which this bnb offers their leisure facilities to their guests.the host george is great at giving local knowledge on walks...most of which start in ambleside so the location is ideal!
Breakfast is great and full-filling, standard english breakfast, with the hosts george and ann making sure your well fed and watered for the day! Also, a lovely fresh bright dining room to start your day.
on every visit, the room has been lovely and cosy, and ideal to meet our needs, a few to mention, tea, coffee, en-suite, tv, selection of books/leaflets on the area etc.
We couldnt ask for better hosts of a friendly and welcoming bnb.
Just to mention, you can tempary park your car outside whilst unloading and loading however, Parking is provided just a stone throw away from the bnb.
To sum up the bnb is in a great location with excellent lesuire facilities nearby and lovely owners. Would recomend to anyone.

Review: I have just returned from a one nights stay at the Hillsdale in Ambleside and it was perfect.
It was in a great location close to all the pubs and restaurants. It was clean and fantastic value for money.
George was a great host. Very friendly with lots of advice on walks and places to eat. I would definitely return to this B&B and I would also recomend it to anyone.
