Swiss Court Guest House is an imposing, red sandstone fronted residence built in the late 1800’s. It was originally built for the Church as a Congregational Chapel, School and Ministers residence, and was named the Manse.
In 1931 the Church sold the Manse and it became a private dwelling house. The Manse is believed to have become a Guest house offering bed and breakfast accommodation around 1953 and had its name changed in the 1970’s to Swiss Court Guesthouse, which it has been ever since.
Today’s Swiss Court Guest House is a centrally located four star establishment, offering a high standard of clean and comfortable accommodation. Our elevated position affords stunning views from all our rooms. An ideal base for walkers, cyclists or for just simply relaxing, with Derwentwater and the beautiful surrounding fells only a few minutes away.
