Serenely beautiful as this part of south Cumbria may be, it's not entirely detached from reality. For those who wish to wander there are many local attractions to tempt you, or as the cottage and farm holiday home lie on a footpath path network, you may simply wish to walk and enjoy your solitude.
Many tourists pass by this quiet corner of Cumbria in a mad dash to the central Lakes, yet 'Hobkin Ground' is just 15 minutes drive from Coniston water, its also not far from Cumbria's coastline. The bustling market town of Ulverston is only 30mins by car, with quaint shops and covered market; it’s a perfect place for those with a need for at least some 'retail therapy'.
All provisions can be found nearby in the friendly, charming village of Broughton. Within walking distance of the Farm is the Les Routier rated hostelry the 'Blacksmiths Arms', so if you don't want to cook, you don't have to.
'Hobkin Ground' is a mixed working farm so expect to see cows and calves and if you visit in the spring the lambing season.
