All visitors to Grizedale Lodge can be assured a warm welcome, friendly attention and of every effort being made to ensure that their stay is enjoyable. The Lodge is wonderfully central for all the many attractions - historical, cultural and natural - that Lakeland possesses.
Two miles away is the picturesque village of Hawkshead with its Inns and Restaurants and the historic Grammar School that Wordsworth attended - and whose name is still to be seen scratched into the desk - and there too is the Beatrix Potter exhibition. One can walk over the hill to the rear of the Hotel to Brantwood, home of John Ruskin, and Coniston Water.
Grizedale Lodge is set on the edge of the magnificent Grizedale Forest the origins of which date back to Monastic times and the name itself hints at the old Norse name for the Wild Boar.
The countryside presents an ever-changing tapestry of colour, especially in Autumn. Deer can be glimpsed in the forest and there is a fascinating variety of bird and wildlife to be observed.
